First Impression: Dragon Age: Inquisition (Playstation 3)

Welcome to the 209th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 3 game, Dragon Age Inquisition for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:

It’s been some time since I touched on this series, but here I am, checking out another entry. As I noted in the video, I was expecting some sort of top down turn based RPG game. That’s not what I got.

Instead, I got what appeared to be an action RPG style game complete with cooldown abilities. Sometimes, a game franchise changes part way through and it can be for the better. The Destruction Derby series, for me, is an example of a franchise changing things around part way through and improving. Sometimes, a franchise changes things around and becomes far worse. The Rush series was a great example of that.

So, one thing I’ll be really interested in seeing here is if this change is for the better or worse. I know this franchise has its fans, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for it to be for the better (since I was pretty “meh” on the Origins entry). Still, I’ll be needing to play further into this game before I can determine this.

For those who have played this game, what are your thoughts on this game? Was this a great and exciting entry for this franchise or did you think it was over hyped and didn’t meet your expectations?
