First Impression: Dark Souls II (Playstation 3)

Welcome to the 253rd instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 3 game, Dark Souls II for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t exactly looking forward to this particular video. It’s mainly because I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the first game due to gameplay being a glitchy mess and controls generally sucking. I know people out there will say I just need to “get good”, but I firmly believe that maybe the game should “get good” first before we can talk.

Still, in my neverending quest to keep an open mind with all games, I went ahead and gave the sequel a try anyway. It was in my collection, so why not open it up and see if it’s any better?

Well, as you can see from my first 10 minutes, this game does continue with the horrible tank controls and, well, overall jankiness I’m now coming to expect from these games. Whether that is the character randomly doing something that you didn’t want the character to do or just overall making simple tasks extremely difficult, I know I have a rough road ahead of me when plugging my nose and playing further into this one.
