Review: Toby Emerson – Can You Feel the Music (Melt Your Face Off Mix) (House)

This review covers the progressive electro house track Toby Emerson – Can You Feel the Music (Melt Your Face Off Mix).

This track was released in 2008 as a single along with 2 other mixes.

One element in this track I found interesting was the vocals. It certainly have its own interestingly unique quality to it. There’s also a nice amount of chopped vocals that really added to the overall sound quality. There is a lot of reverberations added to it part way through, but I thought it added a very nice quality that gave this track a sort of mystery tone to it. At any event, the vocals worked very well for this track.

The synth and bassline worked quite well. There’s so many small things that just added to the overall sound, it is kind of difficult to describe (not a bad thing in this case).

The overall flow worked extremely well in how it both built up and how there was a sort of climax which was followed up by a nice growling melodic synth. This really gave an excellent amount of energy to the track.

The added wobble in the pitch in one of the synths after was helped push this track over the top.

Generally speaking, this is definitely one of the best tracks I’ve heard all year so far. The title made me nervous in that I thought it was going to just be a cliche track, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised with how great this track is. An excellent track.
