Review: Spacebuoy – U.F.O. (Synth Pop)

This review covers the synth pop track Spacebuoy – U.F.O.

This track was released in 2012 online for free.

This is one of those tracks where I am conflicted as to whether this is awesome, strange, or hilarious. As a result, I delayed reviewing this track trying to decide. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t make a decision on that.

One great element of this track was the lyrics. They really did a great job at personifying a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object). Even thought the topic is a little out in left field for me, I thought the lyrics were well realized.

The vocals were also very nicely done. They really did do a good job at projecting the lyrics. They have a sort of disco quality to it. The warped backing vocals really gave the lyrics a sort of sci-fi alien sound.

The synth added nicely to this track. It gave this track a very retro sound to it like it was some kind of throwback to the 80s or maybe early 90s. The flow of this track was nicely done. every element sits nicely in this track.

I think this track was great. I don’t think this is one of those tracks to be taken seriously and think it’s supposed to be something to be treated with a sense of humor.

8/10
