Review: Skrillex Feat. Sirah – Bangarang (Dubstep)

By Drew Wilson

This review covers the dubstep track Skrillex Feat. Sirah – Bangarang.

This particular track was released in 2011 along with a number of other tracks.

Skrillex is probably one of the biggest names that pushed the “wub wub” sound in dubstep. This particular track features numerous references to the movie “Hook”.

I personally was never a huge fan of this particular direction that some music took. It’s all well and god to have interesting bass sounds, but to me, there has to be something I can really be attracted to as well. This particular track never really gets there. All it really is is almost nothing but the wub wub sound with a little bit of build-up in the middle.

I tried finding a decent pattern in all of this so I can get a feel for any rhythm, but I failed to do even that.

With nothing that was particularly interesting in this track, I have to say that this track is simply boring. I can appreciate how much effort it takes to get such a large collection of sound in one track, but I wished that effort also went into something that sounded half decent. This track does nothing for me.

Score
2/10
