Review: CLS & Wax – Quite Perfect (Liquid Drum N Bass)

By Drew Wilson

This review covers the liquid Drum N Bass track CLS & Wax – Quite Perfect.

This particular track was released in 2005 and was released along with the track Logistics – The Trip. It was also a track found on the rather famous compilation album Weapons of Mass Creation Vol. Two in the same year.

This track, while definitely drum n bass, also features dominant elements of instrumental rock. It also features some chopped vocals that were sprinkled in as well. No, I’m not talking about a chocolate sundae, but the track is definitely sweet.

While the main melody repeats as the track goes along, the vocal samples help make this track a nicely progressive one.

I think what really makes this track work is the overall audio atmosphere it provides. It rocks, it has a nice drum n bass backing, and it has a number of subtle effects thrown in that really makes this track shine. While the breakdown of this track is short, I don’t think it really detracts at all from the track itself.

This track, for me, is one of those tracks I just want to put on repeat. There’s not really anything I can say bad about this track. This is one of those classics that can withstand the test of time. A great track.
